Introduction

Welcome to Servant of God story. The story is about an angel coming down to Earth to help humanity improve. She does so through a good-hearted person living on Earth. This story outlines some of my views on the world and what we humans can possibly do to make it a better place. I've included important messages at the end of each chapter that contain some, but also I've summarized them all in a separate chapter for easy reference. Enjoy and I hope that this story inspires you.

Summary of messages from all the chapters

Chapter 2 – The Mission
You can’t always fight fire with fire
We all see the same things differently, so for example Kenny could see Angelika as a beautiful person, whereas many other people didn’t

Chapter 3 – Angelika
Every little good deed always counts and changes the world for the better, no matter how insignificant it seems
Fights and battles are chances to improve

Chapter 4 – Robber talk
Even evil can have a soft spot

Chapter 5 – Faith
Not all people can be improved by force
Not everyone is born evil. It’s what they see that changes them. Some people change easily, others not so much.
Do not lose faith when bitter things happen to you

Chapter 8 – Wrong choice
You always have a choice. It’s all about doing the right one
Guilt strongly enfeebles your mind

Chapter 10 – Investigation
Guilt is a strong feeling and often leads to bad events. Never let it take the best of you. It is important to know to forgive yourself.

Chapter 11 – Déjà vu
Guilt can change the way you perceive things
You have to know the difference between right and wrong. Kenny knew it and so didn’t kill the guy who attempted to kill him. Leash on the other hand didn’t know right from wrong and so killed his best friend.

Chapter 13 – Influence
Good people eventually find their special someone, they just need to put effort into it
There are two types of people in the world. During normal conditions it is impossible to distinguish between them, but during difficulties one type will improve while the other type will regress. The ones who improve can recognize the evil and how badly it corrupts them, so they fight it. The ones who regress get taken over by evil and want to make other people’s lives a misery as well.
Once the evil has been awakened then it is exponentially harder to fight it
Great victory brings a massive influence and rise in morale
Virtues awaken the heroism in the most heroic people and cause them to make a difference

Chapter 14 – Lives at stake
Being mentally prepared is more important than being physically prepared

Chapter 16 – A Dark secret
You can’t cheat the forces of balance. Putting too much on one scale will eventually backfire, bringing everything back into balance.

Chapter 17 – Divine Forces
Evil is like an infection. Once you’ve been infected, it will spread more and more
Evil can take many shapes and sizes, but the good can counter them all no matter what they are
In order to achieve something, first you need faith, and second you need effort.

Chapter 20 – The Final plan
This chapter emphasises one of the previous points – it doesn’t matter how big is the change, if at least it changed the life of one person for the better, then it’s an achievement
Luck is simply a term a lot of people use when they hope that they’re dealt the right cards, the good ones.

Chapter 21 – Hidden truth
Special people always go through difficulties because they’ve been chosen to make the good changes in this world; they’re the ones being tested
Every person no matter how unlucky they are can find a special person in their life who will share their views and will understand them fully.
Whenever you get your breakthrough moment in life, something evil will always come and will try to take it away from you

Chapter 22 – The Final clash
Faith is a better weapon than a gun
Evil is like a fire – it burns everything in its path, eventually destroying it. However it can be extinguished
Fear is like a seed of evil. In time it grows to be worse and worse. But faith is a medicine against fear.
Evil can be easily born and reborn. All it requires is soil and an external influence to help it grow
The fight between good and evil never dies. It exists everywhere and in everyone. However good will always win as long as it does exactly what it is meant to do

Chapter 23 - Fading light

And so the happy night has passed and the cloudy morning came. It was now Angelika’s time to depart. All three of them exited into Kenny’s back garden.
- “So I guess this is it.” Angelika said.
- “It’s too bad that you have to leave us so soon.” Sandra said.
- “Don’t worry. I’ll see you in Heaven when your time comes.” Angelika reassured them.
- “Thanks very much for everything you’ve done.” Kenny said.
- “It was pleasure to help you out and help you help humanity.”
- “I will write that book, I promise you.” Kenny said.
- “And I’ll do my best to help Kenny with that.” Sandra added.
- “You two are great together.” Angelika said, “Do not leave each other.”
- “I’m sure we won’t.” Kenny said.
- “Well in that case I’ll see you again some time. But for now farewell.”
At this moment a bright light appeared behind Angelika.
- “Remember not to let any evil get the best of you, especially fear.” Angelika was saying.
Her words were starting to get stretchy and blurry.
- “Thank you, Angelika.” Kenny and Sandra said.
- “Just have faith, it’s all you need.” Angelika said.
And on that note she completely disappeared into the light. Light still shone for a few more seconds before slowly fading away into the cloudy sky.
Kenny and Sandra both sighed.
- “I wish you all the best.” Kenny said, hoping Angelika hears it.
Both of them stood there for a little longer. They felt kind of sad, because of how strongly Angelika influenced their lives and now that she had to leave.
- “Let’s go inside, shall we?” Sandra suggested.
- “Sure.” Kenny agreed.
And here their spiritual journey to helping out humanity began. Their mentor has gone back, but her teachings remained with them and soon will get passed on to other humans.
Good has won once again.

THE END

Chapter 22 - The Final clash

At this moment the fallen spat to the side in disgust and then flew towards Angelika. She flew towards him. The forces of light and dark have clashed in a fiery collision and took off high into the air where they wrestled each other.
Once both released each other Angelika said:
- “Keep trying and keep failing.”
- “I never fail!” Fallen screamed and then pounced on her.
The two fell all the way back down and got up without any problem. Some people got allured to the battle because they’ve never seen anything like this. Sandra was worried.
- “Angelika will be all right.” Kenny said to her.
- “We still need to help her.” Sandra said.
- “In that case I might need to go back and get my gun.”
- “You don’t need your gun, Kenny. Angelika doesn’t need supportive fire. She only needs your faith. That is all.” Sandra told him.
- “I guess you’re right.”
Here Angelika pushed the fallen into the nearest building. The fallen barely got hurt and with all the anger he could collect flew at Angelika and punched her. They then began a bit of a martial arts fight. However Angelika was way better at that than the fallen, so he quickly changed the tactic and spat tonnes of blood at her from the mouth in his stomach. Angelika couldn’t see anything from the blood in her eyes, so the fallen then shot a fireball at her.
She got hit and fell down.
- “The fire burns everything in its path, just like the evil inside me.” The fallen said.
Angelika got up while putting out the fire on her clothes and replied:
- “Well guess what? The fire can be extinguished. Even the fiercest of the flames.”
And at this second Angelika shot a blasting light at the fallen. He seemed to have evaporated.
- “Is he dead?” Sandra asked.
- “I doubt it.” Kenny said.
The fallen’s maniacal laugh could be heard. A few seconds later he appeared behind Angelika and picked her up. She however knew that was coming and so came out of his grasp and kicked him down onto the ground.
He attempted to get up, but she telekinetically picked him up and slammed against the ground again.
- “No point in fighting.” She said, “You have lost already. Tomorrow we must depart, and guess what? I’ve influenced two people, you’ve influenced none.”
- “My evil influences everyone who sees me. The fear they get when they see me is the seed of all the evil. It just needs some time to grow.” The fallen said coldly.
- “And that is why I brought faith with me. Faith is the medicine against fear.”
- “Faith does not exist!”
- “Speak for yourself.” Angelika punched the fallen down as he attempted to get up again.
- “Your two puppets will die very soon.” Fallen cursed Kenny and Sandra.
- “No matter what happens to them, they’ll spread the good word before it’s too late.” Angelika said, “And remember – good always wins. Now burn in your own flames.”
Angelika then summoned a powerful bolt of lightning from the skies which zapped the fallen and set him on fire. The fallen got up and began screaming in various horrifying noises. It was the kind of fire he couldn’t put out. He knew he lost and nothing could change it, because he lacked faith.
After burning for about a minute he collapsed onto the ground and broke into a huge pile of ash.
- “Those ashes are infected. Stay back.” Angelika said to people around, “Evil can be easily reborn, all it needs is an external influence.”
She then shot a blasting light at the ground near the ashes, making a huge hole in the ground and causing the ashes to fall in.
- “So long as they are buried, you all are safe from the evil that can come from them.” Angelika said.
The people who were watching the fight were speechless. They were forever touched and influenced. It was way more than just 2 people now that Angelika managed to get thinking. Her mission was a great success.
She came up to Kenny and Sandra and spoke:
- “Well done you two. Knowing that you believe in me gave me all the strength to fight the fallen.”
- “We’re glad that it’s finally over.” Kenny said.
- “For now.” Angelika corrected him, “There will be more things to come in the future. The fight between good and evil never dies. It exists everywhere and in everyone. This time good have won and so long as the forces of good do what they can do correctly, they’ll always triumph.”
Kenny and Sandra were moved by that statement.
- “Let’s not stand here. It’s time to celebrate success.” Angelika said with a smile.
The three of them went to Kenny’s place and celebrated their victory over the fallen and the terrorists that he tried to bring up.

Chapter 21 - Hidden truth

It was time to go and meet Sandra by the restaurant. Kenny was there on time and waited only for 2 minutes when he saw Sandra approach him along the street. She looked really beautiful in the dress that she wore.
- “You look lovely.” Kenny commented.
- “Thanks. So are you.”
- “How was your day then?”
- “It was good, thanks. And yours?”
- “Not bad.”
Both of them then went in and sat by the table that Sandra booked.
- “So, is there anything in particular you wanted to talk to me about?” Kenny wondered.
- “Well a few things actually, yes.” Sandra admitted.
- “Interesting. I’m listening.”
- “Well, firstly I know who Angelika is. I’ve seen her a couple of days ago.”
- “What? You know that she’s an angel then?”
- “Yep, she told me everything. She said you’re helping her. That is so sweet.”
- “So are you her earthly companion as well?”
- “No, she just spoke to me for a bit and mentioned you as well. I never knew I’d see an angel.”
- “Me neither. I am actually happy that she came into my life. I’ve changed within these few days I think.”
- “You must be a pretty special person then if she chose you.” Sandra said.
The light reflected from her beautiful eyes and she had a look of passion in them. Kenny felt a bit uneasy. He thought that Sandra started flirting with him and he never imagined that co-workers should do that.
- “You all right?” she asked.
- “Yeah, I’m fine.” Kenny sort of lied.
- “I think you can tell what’s on my mind. Am I right?”
- “Well…” Kenny began but then didn’t know what to say.
- “I have feelings for you. I always thought that there was something amazing about you, but was too shy to ask you out.”
- “Thanks. You’re a great person. But why would you want to get involved with someone unlucky like me?”
- “You’re not unlucky. You’re just special and special people always go through difficulties because they’ve been chosen to make the decent changes in this world, they’re the ones being tested.” Sandra explained her opinion.
- “I am happy that you see me that way. I indeed am willing to improve this world.”
- “And I want to help you with that. I want to be your sidekick and your partner, your right hand and your heart.”
- “Wow. Thanks Sandra. I never knew you felt like that for me.”
And so the two of them had a lovely meal and afterwards went to the cinema. They watched a comedy and afterwards were just having a bit of a walk along the street just before going back to their homes. Both of them had a lovely time and shared a lot of feelings for each other. Kenny didn’t know that someone in the world would actually feel that way about him. It was truly an unreal and magical experience. He loved every second of it.
However suddenly Kenny heard a deep evil voice, saying:
- “You’re dead!”
Kenny turned around and saw the fallen flying directly at them. The fallen hit Kenny knocking him onto the ground. Sandra was horrified when she saw the grotesque fallen angel. Kenny got up quickly and shouted:
- “Finally you showed yourself! What took you so long?”
- “I was waiting for the right moment. Now I will kill two birds with one stone.” The fallen murmured in his evil tone.
- “What is that thing?!” Sandra asked in a trembling voice.
- “That’s a fallen angel. He was sent at the same time when Angelika was sent.” Kenny explained.
Here the fallen flew towards Kenny really fast again, but Kenny dodged him. Fallen however stopped suddenly, then grabbed Sandra and began lifting her up into the air.
- “Kenny! Help!”
- “Leave her alone!” Kenny shouted.
He wished he had his gun with him. But it was no time for regrets. He knew he needed to do something in order to save the person special to his heart.
The fallen lifted Sandra really high into the air and then said in a menacing voice:
- “Say goodbye to your girlfriend, cop!”
And at this moment the fallen released Sandra causing her to fall a massive distance, right until Angelika came and caught Sandra.
- “You!” Fallen got very angry.
- “Why don’t you pick somebody your own size?” Angelika said.
Kenny and Sandra were relieved to see Angelika.

Chapter 20 - The Final plan

- “You’re up a bit early.” Angelika said.
- “Ah yes, last night’s sleep was quite good and so I am refreshed now to perform my duty.”
- “It’s Saturday, Kenny. You don’t need to do any duty today.”
- “I always have some duty.”
- “What’s wrong? You seem kinda ecstatic today.”
- “Well, how to put this? I overheard you and that archangel talking, so I want to really help you out within this last day of your stay.”
- “Ah I see. I was going to tell you about that. But OK, in that case I’ve been thinking of what we can do and I am yet to find an answer. I just think we should concentrate on the fallen now.”
- “Sounds like a good idea.” Kenny said, “I was also thinking and I’ve decided that I want to write a book about this. I will put into it everything that you’ve taught me and hope that at least one person learns something from that book.”
- “Looks like you got it now. I am glad that my mission here proved to be useful. It doesn’t matter how big the change you make, so long as at least one person is affected in a good way then you’ve done a great job, because then that person will affect someone else and so on so forth.”
- “It will be a challenge to write that book because I’ve never written one, but I am looking forward to sharing my experiences with others.”
- “Good, I am glad that I picked you of all the people.”
- “Thanks. Anyways, how are we going to find the fallen within today? He masks himself easily.” Kenny asked.
- “I can try going around the city and see if I can sense him. I usually sense a dirty dark presence when he’s around.”
- “Be careful, he can ambush you.”
- “I’m sure I’ll be all right. Besides even if something happens to me, I have you to continue my mission onwards.”
- “That is true.”
The two of them then went into the living room. Kenny had some breakfast there and Angelika had a cup of tea. They carried on their conversation.
- “The archangel said something about your dominion not being satisfied with your mission. What’s that all about?” Kenny asked.
- “Ah well it’s an angel that controls what I and some other angels do. I convinced him that I can make a difference, but looks like he doesn’t see that.” Angelika explained.
- “I’m sure he will once the chain reaction will follow streaming from your actions.” Kenny reassured her.
- “Thanks Kenny. You’re a good person and I was right to choose you.”
At that moment Kenny’s phone rang. He went over and picked it up. It was Sandra calling. She wanted to tell Kenny about their outing today to a restaurant. She already seemed to have taken care of everything. Kenny was going to reschedule for tomorrow so he could spend today helping Angelika, but Angelika already knew what was happening and so gave Kenny a sign that it’s all right. Kenny then thanked Sandra and agreed to meet her at the appointed time – 3 in the afternoon.
- “You sure about this?” Kenny asked Angelika, “I mean I want to help you.”
- “Don’t worry about this. If fallen comes after you then I’ll get him. If not then I’ll find him manually.” Angelika said.
- “All right, so is this our final plan then?”
- “Yes it is. Everything will be all right. Trust me on this.” Angelika said confidently.
- “Well I guess I wish you best of luck and…”
- “We angels do not abide by luck, but thanks anyway. I’m sure you meant that you hoped the events will happen the way they’re supposed to.”
- “Yes of course. Luck is simply a term a lot of people use when they hope that they’re dealt the right cards.” Kenny explained his view.
- “Well in that case I might see you later today, but if something happens to me then it was a pleasure knowing you and I’ll see you again someday.”
- “I am glad that you came into my life Angelika.” Kenny said, “You’ve changed it for the best.”
Kenny gave Angelika a hug and then she left his house in search of the fallen. Kenny then had some time to think things through and then to get ready for meeting with Sandra.

Chapter 19 - A Message

Kenny woke up at around 5 am in the morning because he heard some voices. At first he thought he heard it in his sleep, but then he heard them again, so he quickly got out of bed and tried to understand where they were coming from. It seemed that they were coming from his back garden. He looked out of the curtain of the window facing the garden and saw a confusing sight. It was Angelika talking to someone who looked like an archangel. He had fair hair and shiny blue eyes. It seemed that the archangel was bringing some news to her. Kenny listened in through the glass of the window to listen to their conversation.
- “The time is running out. You don’t have much of it left.” The archangel said.
- “I know I know.” Angelika said, “just give me a bit more time.”
- “It’s not up to me to decide. You know that.” Archangel said.
- “I was just told to tell you that you have about 28 hours left. In the end it doesn’t matter that much if you fail. Your mission was voluntary anyway.”
- “I will make those 28 hours count. And I still need to destroy the fallen one.”
- “The fallen can’t stay here that long either, so don’t worry about him.” Archangel said.
- “Well why am I given so little time anyway?” Angelika wondered.
- “Your dominion says that your idea hasn’t really worked and that you are needed for more important jobs. Sorry to be the messenger of bad news.”
- “It’s all right.” Angelika sighed, “But I won’t give up. If little time is what I’m given, then I’ll put every second to good use.”
- “I really hope you’re right and wish you best of luck.”
At this moment archangel spoke something in a strange language and eventually disappeared into a bright light. Angelika still stood there. Kenny wanted to come outside and reassure her, but at that moment she flew off.
Kenny really felt the urge to help Angelika there. He was now aware that she was running out of time and was trying to figure something out that he could do to make sure that her mission wasn’t for spite. However he was still half asleep and so decided to postpone the planning till he can properly wake up and so went back to bed.
The next couple of hours went fast and Kenny woke up again, this time fully refreshed. The first thought in his mind was to help Angelika, so while getting ready he kept on thinking very hard.
That was until he heard Angelika’s sweet voice beside him.

Chapter 18 - Aftermath

A few hours later Rabid Wolf was given a death sentence for attempted mass murder. Kenny still didn’t know what to feel. He felt good because he put away a bad person, but he also felt bad that he’s the cause of a person getting executed and perhaps it would’ve been possible to change him instead.
So Kenny now sat in his office. Jake and Sandra still couldn’t remember what exactly caused them to faint on the battlefield, but Kenny assured them that it was a fallen angel. They sort of believed him since all of the other cops were talking about the two flying creatures flying through the windows and into the skies. Karl decided not to make Kenny write a report on this since he was the hero and was still mentally down after all the fighting he had to go through. Therefore he asked Jake and Sandra to write it on Monday.
- “So Kenny, how are you feeling right now?” Sandra asked Kenny.
- “Just need to collect all my thoughts. They’re a bit scattered right now.”
- “I know what you mean. I felt the same on one of the difficult assignments that we did last year.”
- “Thanks for understanding.”
- “Hey, you doing anything this weekend? Perhaps we can go somewhere and have a chat.” She suggested.
- “Sounds good to me. What have you got in mind?”
- “Perhaps book a restaurant for two?”
- “Nice idea. Thanks. It’d be nice to have some company after all these fights around us.”
Here Jake came back into the room.
- “Hey Kenny, you won’t believe this, but I overheard chief say that he wants to promote you.”
- “Really? Well, I feel honoured. But does that mean I won’t be sharing an office with you guys anymore?”
- “Looks like that’s the case.” Jake said.
- “Oh no. Well let’s hope you’ll still be on this floor.” Sandra said.
The working part of the day ended very soon and so Kenny headed back home. Sandra said that she’ll phone him about the place and time of their meeting on the weekend and on that note he left the station.
He arrived home all tired and mentally exhausted. It was truly a long day for him. He sort of collapsed onto the nearest armchair and fell asleep really quickly.
In an hour or so Kenny got woken up and the first thing he saw was Angelika’s beautiful face. He didn’t get scared this time.
- “Long day at work?” she asked sweetly.
- “Yeah.” Kenny said while just getting his consciousness back.
- “Well in that case I won’t disturb you for long. Have a good rest. You’ll need it if the fallen comes back… and he will be back sooner or later.
- “You can stay if you want. I don’t want to sleep for the rest of the evening.” Kenny said.
- “As you wish.”
So Angelika decided to give herself a bit of rest too, because all of her free time she just goes around saving people. Now that both of them have stopped the nasty robber gang they could call it a day.
So they’ve been watching tele and playing games for the rest of the evening. Angelika left Kenny for the night and he went to sleep. She said she’ll visit him in the morning again to keep him updated on any news about the fallen.

Chapter 17 - Divine forces

The fallen got up first, then picked Angelika up and threw here at the wall. She flew right through it and the fallen followed through to keep punching her.
Kenny didn’t like the sight, but he had Rabid Wolf to worry about. Wolf tried to jump for the detonator, but Kenny precisely shot at it, causing it to roll away and then instantly sprinted towards Wolf. Wolf didn’t see that coming and got tackled by Kenny. These two fell off the stage as well.
In a meanwhile the fallen kept on dominating Angelika in a fierce battle of divine and demonic powers. However Angelika could take a lot of punishment and eventually retaliated with a few attacks, sending the fallen against a couple of the walls too. Right after that she cast a blinding light that really hurt the fallen. The fallen though possessed cunning abilities and so disappeared for some time. Angelika knew he was still around as she could feel his disgusting dark presence. The fallen still managed to surprise her though, by grabbing her from behind and throwing into the window.
The cops outside jumped from such an unexpected turn of events as they didn’t expect anyone to fly through the window. They saw two inhuman creatures grab onto each other, take off into the air and trying to rip each other’s faces off.
Kenny and Wolf were still wrestling it out. Wolf then got out a gun and pointed at Kenny, but Kenny kicked it off his hands and then elbowed him in the face. Wolf got stunned, so Kenny quickly grabbed him into the policeman lock and put handcuffs on him.
- “You are not going anywhere now.” He said confidently.
- “This battle is not over.” Wolf said menacingly.
- “Oh yes it is. Now be quiet.” Kenny knocked Wolf onto the ground here and then picked up his radio and began contacting his chief.
- “Yes Kenny? What is happening over there?” Karl asked.
- “I’ve got him, but I need some back up.” Kenny said.
- “Where’s team beta?” Karl asked.
- “They are dead, sir.”
- “Oh God, I hoped not to hear that. Well OK then the back up is on the way.”
Angelika and the fallen continued their aerial combat. It was fierce and full of hatred. Angelika knew she mustn’t give in to that though, because that makes her as bad as the fallen. At one moment she struck him down onto the ground and landed on him with all the force.
The fallen was barely even hurt. She only saw a bit of blood dripping from his mouth and an evil smile. She then telekinetically picked up a phone booth and threw it at him. He got knocked down, but got up really fast. She knew that he was tougher than her, but he was by far less intelligent.
All that fallen could see in Angelika was just another angel who can fall and it was his task at the moment to do so. He pounced onto her attempting to bite her to spread the infection of evil even into a divine angel, but she shook him off fast and finally looked deep into his blood red eyes and said:
- “Evil might take different shapes and sizes, but the good can still counter them all no matter what they are.”
And at this moment blasted him with a very concentrated light. The fallen then felt that his earthly companion Wolf was being captured and knew that alone he won’t succeed, so he said:
- “You might’ve won this time, but it’s not for long. I will easily find myself another companion who is more evil and more determined to bring the humanity down.”
And at this stage he vanished into the darkness. Angelika sighed and then took off back to the theatre to check on Kenny.
When she came back to the theatre she saw lots of cops escorting the hostages, but couldn’t find Kenny anywhere. She then sensed him with her mind and turned around. He was standing behind her.
- “You’ve made it. I’m glad you defeated that thing.” Kenny said to Angelika.
- “Kenny! We’ve won this battle and I am delighted. But the fallen has escaped and will be back very soon. We must be prepared for anything.”
- “How can we beat him?”
- “Through faith and effort.” Angelika said. “If you want to achieve something, first you must believe and second is to put all the necessary effort into it.”
- “I agree with you. Well all right then. I must be off to the station now. Wolf has a trial, so I’ll see you later today.”
- “Yes and we will discuss our upcoming strategies against the fallen.”
On this note Angelika took off and Kenny joined Jake and Sandra in the car where they drove to the police station.

Messages from this chapter:

-Evil is like an infection. Once you’ve been infected, it will spread more and more
-Evil can take many shapes and sizes, but the good can counter them all no matter what they are
-In order to achieve something, first you need faith, and second you need effort.

Chapter 16 - A Dark secret

Kenny got angry with Wolf’s behaviour, but he knew not to expect anything better from a dirty criminal.
- “What is so amusing? And what’s the purpose of all this?” Kenny questioned.
- “You’ll soon find out my friend. But for now lower your gun. You can’t arrest me for I hid a bomb in this theatre and its detonator is with me. If I move away a certain distance from it then it will blow up the place with tonnes of pretty lights.”
- “Why are you doing this? What do you want?”
Wolf laughed at him again. Kenny began getting impatient. Here Angelika appeared just the way she usually does and stood next to Kenny. Wolf saw her and was a little bit intimidated.
- “Stand back you witch or I’ll blow us all up right now.” Wolf shouted to her.
- “Put the detonator down.” Angelika said, “We don’t want any casualties, not even you.”
- “I can’t care less.” Wolf said.
- “You can be a better person. Don’t do this. It won’t make you proud.” Angelika tried to explain.
- “Actually it would for I serve dark forces.”
- “What are you on about?” Kenny got confused.
- “I advise the two of you to get the hell out of here and save yourselves. I’ll blow up this whole place regardless of what you say.” Wolf said without hesitation.
- “What have these people done to you?” Angelika asked.
- “Cut out all the crap, seriously. It ain’t working on me.” Wolf began getting tired.
- “This one’s tough.” Angelika said quietly to Kenny, “My persuasive powers are not working on him.”
- “So what will it be? You leave and let these people die or you die with us?” Wolf gave them last choice.
Kenny took a deep breath, lowered his gun and then looked directly into robber’s eyes.
- “You know, you can do whatever you want, you can blow us all up, but in the end you won’t achieve anything. You’ll just waste a bunch of lives, including your own. Some of those lives could’ve changed the world for the better.” Kenny told him slowly.
Wolf then chuckled and here someone emerged from the darkness behind him. It was some kind of a creature and looked bloody and grotesque.
- “What is that?!” Kenny got horrified, “Am I dreaming?”
- “A fallen angel.” Angelika said, “I should’ve known.”
- “What do you mean?”
- “I was warned about the perfect balance. Me coming down here meant that we tipped the balance. In order to restore it someone evil must’ve come too and here he is.” Angelika explained with bitterness in her voice.
- “You got that right.” The fallen coughed out.
- “Now do you see my purpose?” Wolf said, “I’m on a mission too, just like you Kenny.”
- “The fallen had chosen his earthly companion too.” Kenny said quietly while looking at Angelika.
Angelika nodded to him with a look of terror in her eyes.
- “You might try to make the world a better place, but I will ruin it.” Wolf said.
- “You still have a choice.” Kenny told him.
- “We can’t change him anymore.” Angelika said to Kenny, “the only way is to fight them now.”
Silence dominated the place for a few seconds until Wolf broke it:
- “OK, can’t lose much time. Time to die.”
Kenny suddenly raised his gun and shot Wolf in the arm, causing him to drop the detonator.
- “Woah, quick reactions!” Wolf was surprised.
- “I’ll deal with this scumbag.” The fallen murmured and began approaching Kenny fast.
Kenny saw that and got scared, but here Angelika stood in front of him and stopped the fallen. Both of them collided and fell off the stage.

Chapter 15 - A Mighty force

Kenny, Jake and Sandra have climbed the theatre building via the fire escape stairs and made it to the roof. Now they had to enter the building and to make it quietly. Kenny approached the door leading to the main staircase of the building and opened it slowly. Jake and Sandra entered and Kenny followed in.
- “Where did they say he was hiding?” Jake whispered to Kenny.
- “They didn’t. We’ll have to find him.” Kenny replied.
- “That means we should be alert as he could be on the ground floor or on this one.” Sandra warned.
- “Precisely.” Kenny confirmed.
The three of them held their guns steady and began looking around the top floor of the building. It had several small studios here. Those must’ve been the rooms for actors. It seemed quiet. The three of them then went down the same stairs to the next floor. It had a few more of those rooms, as well as an entrance into the balcony of both stages in the theatre.
- “Be aware. We would be easy to spot here.” Kenny said.
- “OK, we better not go on the balcony then.” Sandra said.
- “Then how will we find him?” Jake wondered.
- “You two stay here. I’ll take a peek.” Kenny said.
So Kenny alone entered the balcony in the crouched position and looked over to see the stage number 2. It was empty. He then quietly walked along the balcony to reach stage number 1, and as soon he looked towards it he saw lots of tied-up people sitting on the ground and a menacing-looking man walking around and what looked like talking to himself. Kenny quickly ducked out of view and quickly but quietly went back to Jake and Sandra.
In a meantime Rob and two of his partners entered the theatre building through the back entrance. They were in a little corridor there. It was one of those hardly used entrances which still had maintenance happening in. It led them into the basement of the theatre.
Suddenly all three of them heard someone’s angry roaring.
- “What on Earth was that?” one of the cops asked Rob.
Rob was terrified. He never heard anything like this. The next second the two of them heard screams of the third cop who was being dragged around the corner by something. Both of them saw that and ran after where he was being dragged, but once they looked around the corner he was nowhere to be seen.
- “Please tell me what this is.” Rob’s partner asked him.
- “I really don’t know, but whatever that is, it’s bloody scary.” Rob said with fear.
The two of them carried on through the basement and at all times checking their back so that no-one is creeping up on them. They saw the stairs leading to the ground floor and began ascending them. However at this moment one of the steps broke and Rob’s partner fell into the floor.
- “Hey, are you all right?!” Rob shouted down into a dark hole.
But all he heard in return was blood-gurgling sounds. Something was up and he didn’t know what it was. He quickly ran up the stairs and found himself on the ground floor by the front entrance. He could hear someone’s heavy breathing, someone’s teeth scraping, someone’s footsteps. He kept on looking around and all he saw was empty hallways. Someone’s eyes were watching him, but he couldn’t see who it was.
Kenny finally reached Jake and Sandra. They knew that he saw something and so Sandra asked him:
- “So? Where is he?”
- “He’s in the first stage and he has too many hostages. We can’t risk with their lives.” Kenny replied.
- “Chill. We won’t fail.” Sandra calmed him down.
Three of them then descended the stairs even further a couple of more floors until they reached the ground floor. The next double doors led straight into the main hall. Kenny looked through the glass bits in the doors and it seemed clear so three of them stepped into the main hall. Jake then saw something by the exit doors. He got Kenny’s and Sandra’s attention and said:
- “What is that?”
The three of them walked closer and saw it was a dead body. When they got even closer they saw it was Rob. He had teeth marks in his neck and lost a lot of blood.
- “Damn! Someone killed Rob.” Jake panicked.
- “More like something.” Kenny corrected him.
- “Guys, we shouldn’t stray off the mission.” Sandra suddenly told them, “It’s horrible what happened to Rob, but we need to stop that crazy guy.”
- “Sure, you’re right.” Kenny agreed.
All three of them then headed for the stages. They walked up to the doors of the first stage and slowly opened them. These doors were at the very back of the room and so Rabid Wolf didn’t see them come in. Suddenly Jake and Sandra lost their consciousness.
- “Guys! What’s happening to you two?” Kenny whispered to them.
No answer came. Jake and Sandra were lying motionless on the ground. They were still alive, but completely knocked out. Some mighty force must’ve done it and Kenny was yet to discover what it was and why it hasn’t affected him.
He stealthly headed for the stage when he revealed himself. Rabid Wolf was still turned to him with his back, but then he saw nearly all of the hostages looking somewhere, so he turned around and saw Kenny aiming at him with his gun.
- “Don’t do anything stupid.” Kenny said.
- “Ah, it’s you.” Wolf said, “I’m surprised you actually made it here alive.”
- “What are you on about? And what is killing all my friends?”
Wolf laughed manically.

Chapter 14 - Lives at stake

Kenny got woken up really early in the morning by Angelika’s voice.
- “Kenny, we’ve got little time! Come on! I need your help.”
- “What’s wrong, Angelika?” Kenny asked while snapping out of sleep.
- “Rabid Wolf. That’s what’s wrong.”
- “What has he done now?”
- “He locked himself up in a local theatre with many hostages, wanting to blow everyone up.”
- “Why? And why in a theatre?”
- “I have no idea. He hasn’t even told police what he wants. It seems he just wants to take a lot of innocent lives.”
Kenny momentarily got up. He got this huge boost of energy and so got dressed really quickly. He didn’t really have time for breakfast, but he got himself some snack so to have something in the stomach. At that moment his phone rang. He picked it up. It was one of the cops phoning from his police station.
- “Kenny? Your chief wants you right now to be outside the local theatre. He says it’s urgent.”
- “I’ve heard the news.” Kenny said, “And I’ll be there asap.”
- “All right, that is good. Be there quick; we don’t have much time.”
And at that moment the cop hung up the phone. Kenny looked at Angelika and she said:
- “Make sure you’re mentally prepared for anything. Being mentally prepared is more important than being physically prepared.”
- “I am ready to do whatever it takes to save innocent lives.”
And on this note both of them exited his house and headed in the direction of the theatre. Angelika gave him a speed flight again and they were there in no time. Many cops were still arriving at the scene. Karl was there already. When he saw Kenny he smiled slightly as he was pleased to see him and then began:
- “Kenny, that was incredibly quick. We’ve got quite an incident here…”
- “I know. The last remaining robber. He wants to blow up the place.”
- “Yeah, how do you know?”
- “Never mind that, sir. Has he made any demands?”
- “Nope. No demands. It seems he just wants to see chaos and destruction.”
- “I have doubts that he has no motives. If he did then he wouldn’t bother with all that preparation.” Kenny said his opinion.
- “Well in that case we’ll need a couple of teams to infiltrate the building and to stop him without him knowing it.” Karl said.
Kenny took his word and so Karl began organising some teams to go into the theatre and to make sure that Rabid Wolf won’t do anything that can kill innocent lives.
And so the two teams were organised. Team alpha consisted of Kenny, Jake and Sandra. And team beta consisted of Rob and two other cops. Team alpha will infiltrate through the roof, while team beta through the back entrance. Angelika said to Kenny that she’ll be near him at all times and will protect him if anything happens. Kenny felt relived, but also determined to stop Rabid Wolf.
- “So my fellow comrades, you have been briefed. Now move out and show me what we’ve been teaching you.” Karl said to both teams and the teams took off to infiltrate the building through their respective entrances.

Chapter 13 - Influence

Kenny and Angelika spent the late evening together at Kenny’s house. Though Angelika was a divine angel, she still was very humane and so Kenny didn’t feel any discomfort whatsoever whilst communicating with her.
- “So Kenny, tell me a bit about yourself. I know who you are, but not your life story.” Angelika started.
- “Ah well, I’m too average to be interesting.” Kenny said negatively.
- “Come on. You have a good soul, so surely it’s filled with good emotions from the past.”
- “Not really. Except for my job I don’t have anything.”
- “No girlfriend? No family?”
- “My parents died in a car crash when I was a teen. I lived with my aunt and uncle until I was 21. That’s when I got this job and so could pay my own bills. Had a girlfriend once, but it didn’t work out.”
- “Why didn’t it work out?” Angelika was curious.
- “We were very different people with different ideas on how to spend time. I was committed to my job; she was to hanging around with her friends.”
- “I see. Well I have to please you that your love life is going to be good…”
- “How do you know that?”
- “Good people like you eventually find someone, providing they put some effort into it and I know that you’re a hard worker.”
- “How about you? What do you usually do in Heaven?”
- “There’s a lot to do in Heaven. I don’t want to spoil it for you. When your time comes – you’ll see it all for yourself.”
- “So how are we going to go about capturing that last robber? And how are we going to improve him?” Kenny changed the subject slightly.
- “You see there are two types of people in the world: those who improve upon difficulties and those who regress. During normal circumstances everyone seems the same. It is when you push people to the limit you can see the difference, when they suffer and experience a great deal of evil. Those who improve, they see evil and they know it’s wrong, they realise its consequences and how it taints their soul, hence they fight it as best as they can.”
- “And the others?”
- “The others get taken by evil. They feel that if they had to endure that then no-one else has a right to happiness. They need to lift their self-esteem back up and the only way they can do that is by bringing down everyone else around them. It’s truly a distorted way of thinking, but unfortunately it’s quite common. We angels try to improve those people before it’s too late. Because you know once the evil in them has been awakened then it’s exponentially harder to improve them.”
- “But then that brings us to what I said – the robbers and terrorists are a lost cause. They’ll be hard to improve.”
- “That is true, but you know with great victory comes a massive influence. If we win this one battle, we will spread tonnes of good influence all around the place.” Angelika explained.
- “I like what you’re saying.” Kenny agreed, “You’ve really inspired me now.”
- “That is my purpose in life – to inspire people.”
- “Do angels come down to Earth often then?”
- “Not really. Like I said, most have their say through indirect contact. We virtues seek the particularly heroic humans and we inspire them. They then go on and make a difference.”
- “So much is happening that I’m not aware of.” Kenny admitted.
- “Many people are not aware of this. Even those who contribute to the good change sometimes don’t know that they’ve been influenced by a virtue.”
- “I see, I see. Well, I love talking to you, but I think I’d better go to bed now. Today was a tiring day.”
- “Yes, you definitely need rest. We’ve still got a lot to do.” Angelika said.
- “In that case see you tomorrow then.” Kenny said.
- “Just call me if you need me, but otherwise I’ll come by once I find something of good use.” Angelika said.
And at this moment she teleported away. Kenny stood there still with a smile on his face as he was really inspired. He went to bed and the good mood helped him fall asleep very fast and very deeply.

Chapter 12 - Extracting the Truth

It was already 8:30 in the evening and the station was almost empty except for a few nightshift cops.
- “Kenny, why are you here so late?” One of them asked.
- “I’ve captured this guy. He’s a hitman who was sent to kill me. I’ll need to use the interrogation room and a lie detector.” Kenny replied.
- “All right, go ahead.” The cop in the front entrance lobby let him in.
Angelika didn’t go in with them, she teleported to where Kenny was once he passed the guards. They seated the hitman at the table in the interrogation room, then Kenny strapped a lie detector onto him and then together Kenny and Angelika began asking him questions.
- “What is your name?” Kenny asked first.
- “Piss off!” The guy responded.
Kenny grabbed a tazer from the table and tazed the guy.
- “If you won’t speak then I’ll have to turn to sodium pentathol to squeeze the truth out of you.” Kenny demanded.
- “Go ahead. I don’t care.” The guy said without interest.
- “What is your name?” Kenny asked.
The guy carried on with silence and even looked away.
- “Let me try.” Angelika said.
She walked up to the hitman. He looked into her eyes and suddenly she linked her mind with his.
- “What are you doing to me?” the guy got terrified.
- “You want to speak the truth and you will spill out everything you know.” Angelika kept on repeating 3 times.
The guy then went even more silent than he was.
- “You didn’t tell me you could mind control.” Kenny said to Angelika.
- “Just a tiny bit.”
- “Then why don’t you do the same with every evil person.”
- “I can’t change the way people think. I can only partially take control of some aspects such as lying and short-term memory.” Angelika explained.
- “OK, I get it.”
- “You can ask him questions now. He’ll speak the truth. For tonight at least anyways.”
- “All right, thanks.” Kenny thanked Angelika and then turned to the hitman.
The hitman turned towards Kenny. He still had the look of fear on his face. Kenny then repeated his question:
- “What is your name?”
- “My name is Chris and I am a hired killer.” The guy said.
- “OK Chris. Who exactly sent you and why does he or she want to kill me?” Kenny asked another question.
- “His name is Rabid Wolf. He’s one of my friends and occasionally I work for him too. I don’t know why he wants to kill you. He just told me your name and address.” Chris answered.
- “That’s the same robber.” Angelika said.
- “When’s the last time you spoke to him?” Kenny asked.
- “I spoke to him day before yesterday on the phone and then yesterday morning again. That’s when he gave me this assignment.”
- “All right. Do you know why Rabid Wolf needed so many guns?”
- “No, he hasn’t even told me about them.” Chris said.
- “OK…” Kenny thought to himself, “I don’t think I have any more questions. Angelika, do you?”
- “No, I don’t think we have any more use for him. I’ll just continue doing what I do.” Angelika replied, “I doubt I’ll be able to extract anything out of his mind.”
- “I see. In that case I’ll just lock him up.”
- “Screw you!” Chris said angrily.
Kenny ignored that and then took the guy out of the room. A couple of cops came across him. He told them to lock him up in the cell block until he gets his trial.
- “What are you going to do now?” Angelika asked Kenny.
- “Ah I think I’ll just go home and unwind. I tried to do so earlier, but this scum had to be an obstacle.”
- “I’ll give you company if you want.” Angelika suggested.
- “Sure, sounds good.”

Chapter 11 - Deja vu

Kenny couldn’t understand the motives of the robbers, but he could feel something was going to happen very soon. He got back home, expecting Angelika to meet him there, but when he switched on the lights, she wasn’t there. He was still expecting her to turn up sometime this evening as he hadn’t seen her for the whole day.
He got himself a drink of water and then went to the living room to watch TV for a bit. Numerous reports were tiring him quickly, but at least they were interesting to write as what was happening was a bit of a riddle for him. Suddenly he heard footsteps, so he momentarily turned around and saw a man there about to strangle him with a wire.
Kenny jumped out of his armchair, just about dodging his death. The guy wore a balaclava and was average built. He saw that his stealthy plan had failed, so he took out a big knife instead and gambled on melee combat. Kenny remembered that he left his gun on a kitchen table, but it would be hard to get to it, so he picked up a lamp. The hitman ran up to him in an attempt to stab him, but Kenny’s reflexes were good and he could also read people quite well after working in police for so long, so he managed to block the attack with the lamp and smacked the guy in the face. The hitman got stunned, so Kenny smacked him with the lamp again.
He then dropped the lamp and ran to the kitchen to get his gun. The hitman got up pretty fast and ran after Kenny to stop him from escaping. Kenny reached to the kitchen table and picked up a gun, but the guy tackled him. Both of them fell on the floor. Kenny quickly elbowed the guy in the eye, before kicking him off himself. He got up instantaneously and pointed his loaded gun at the hitman.
- “Freeze!” he shouted on top of his voice.
The guy stopped his attempt of getting up and remained on the floor.
- “Who are you and why are you trying to kill me?” Kenny asked him full of anger.
The guy didn’t answer. He just remained as he was without even breathing much.
- “I’ve asked you a question!” Kenny brought a gun closer to the guy’s face.
- “Kenny, don’t do it!” Angelika’s voice came.
Kenny looked to his left and saw Angelika in the kitchen. The hitman seemed to have been surprised as well as she turned up very unexpectedly.
- “Why not? He wanted to kill me.” Kenny said defensively.
- “You’re not like that. You’re not a murderer.” Angelika told him.
- “What difference does that make? He’s a scum.” Kenny said.
- “If you kill him – you’ll be taken over by a surge of evil. His death will only be the beginning. You won’t believe that you’ve actually killed a person. Day after day you’ll be waking up with a strong feeling of guilt. The way you perceive things will change forever. You will not be the same Kenny anymore.”
Kenny took a deep breath and then removed the gun from the hitman’s face.
- “I’ve just had a déjà vu.” Kenny said, “Yesterday night we’ve experienced the same thing with the guy killing his friend.”
- “I am very proud of you, Kenny. You did not let evil take you over. It tested you and you have passed.” Angelika said with a smile on her face.
- “What are we going to do with him now?” Kenny asked.
- “Let’s unmask him first.” Angelika said.
She walked up to the hitman and pulled off his balaclava. He seemed to be a guy of similar age to Kenny.
- “OK.” Kenny let Angelika take over.
- “We should take him to the station. I’m sure he was sent by the remaining robber to kill you.”
- “Why does he want to kill me? What did I in particular do?”
- “That I don’t know.” Angelika said.
- “He hates cops.” Hitman suddenly spoke.
- “Yeah, shut up.” Kenny told him.
Kenny then put handcuffs on the guy, and together with Angelika they took him to the station.

Messages from this chapter:

-Guilt can change the way you perceive things
-You have to know the difference between right and wrong. Kenny knew it and so didn’t kill the guy who attempted to kill him. Leash on the other hand didn’t know right from wrong and so killed his best friend.

Chapter 10 - Investigation

So Kenny, Jake and Sandra drove to the Central park to the location of the crime scene. There were more cops there. They were investigating the area. Jake gave the one in charge a note from Karl, so that they have permission to get on this case and investigate it.
Kenny was horrified when he saw Leash’s hanging corpse. The cops didn’t remove the bodies from the scene yet as they didn’t want to mess up any investigations. Leash’s face looked like it was in absolute agony and Kenny remembered what Angelika said about the excess guilt that accumulated in him. Guilt is a strong feeling and often leads to bad events. All the evidence seemed to point to suicide and so Kenny definitely knew it was because of strong guilt.
Thorn was still lying on the ground against the tree where he was shot in the head. Kenny closed his eyes for a second and remembered last night and how Thorn got shot.
- “So Kenny, anything to share?” Jake came up to him.
- “That guy who suicided himself – he did it because of guilt.” Kenny explained.
- “Guilt?”
- “Yes, because the other guy was one of his best friends.”
- “Why did he shoot his friend then?”
- “I think he had no choice. His friend was going to betray them.”
- “What do you mean by ‘them’?”
- “There’s also another robber who is in charge. We’ve yet to find him. I think he planned something big and nasty.”
- “I see. Could I ask you exactly why were you here last night?”
- “You’d think I’m crazy if I told you.” Kenny said negatively.
- “Try me. Come on, I won’t tell anyone.”
Kenny knew he could trust Jake as he was one of his best friends. He relaxed his mind for a moment and then slowly said:
- “Remember that girl we saw on the bridge? Well she told me about this.”
Jake found it hard to believe, but he didn’t see why Kenny would lie to him, so asked:
- “OK, how did she know about it?”
- “Well here’s the crazy part. She is actually an angel.”
- “Kenny, come on. Angels don’t exist. I bet she was an ordinary human.”
- “I told you that you won’t believe me.”
- “I’m sure there is an explanation for everything. Let’s just concentrate on the case.”
- “Sure. I really wonder what it is that their leader has planned and whether the deaths of his two friends affected his plan in any way.” Kenny said.
- “We’ll need to find out the actual IDs of these two robbers first. I think that will help us come out to the main guy.” Jake said.
- “I think it will be way too late then. He’ll already put his plan to use. But let’s hope for the best.”
At this stage they decided to join the other cops and see what else was found. After about an hour or so they went back to the station. This is when Kenny, Jake and Sandra had to write another report, but this time on their finds on this crime scene.
The report wasn’t too long and was straight to the point, meaning they didn’t need to spend the whole day on it and so soon the shift was over and Kenny headed back home and intensively thinking on his way there.

Messages from this chapter:

-Guilt is a strong feeling and often leads to bad events. Never let it take the best of you. It is important to know to forgive yourself.

Chapter 9 - The news

The next morning Kenny was worried and nervous. He got ready fast and went to work as soon as he was ready. There seemed to be an all right atmosphere at the police station. Maybe no-one knew about dead robber in the park yet. Kenny went up the stairs, along the corridor and into his office. Sandra was there again and she began:
- “Kenny, that’s awesome, you’re here early.”
- “Yeah, I got ready pretty fast.”
- “Have you heard the news?”
- “Which ones?”
- “There was an incident in the park…” Sandra began.
Kenny couldn’t hide it from her and so interrupted her:
- “I know, one dead robber.”
- “Actually two. How do you know they are robbers?”
- “Two? What do you mean?”
- “One was shot in the head and another one hung himself from a tree. They must’ve argued and so one shot another one and then took his own life.”
- “I didn’t know about the second one.”
- “How did you know about the first one then?”
Kenny sighed.
- “I was there yesterday.” He said.
- “What? What happened then?” Sandra couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
- “Someone told me one of them would be meeting us there and so…”
- “Wait wait wait. Who us?”
- “Err, sorry I meant just me. And there was that other one who shot him. I chased after him but he got away. I never knew he killed himself afterwards.”
- “Maybe it was a set up?” Sandra guessed.
- “Do you think someone else killed him?”
- “Anything is possible.”
Here Jake came in. He looked kind of tired.
- “What’s up guys?” he said.
- “There’s been a murder and a suicide in a Central Park last night.” Sandra said.
- “What?!” Jake was shocked to hear such news.
- “Yeah and Kenny says they’re robbers.”
- “They’re the same ones we chased after day before yesterday.” Kenny added.
- “What makes you so sure?” Jake asked.
- “I told Sandra already. I’ve been there last night.”
- “Woah, what happened?” Jake wondered.
- “I think we should speak to the chief about it.” Kenny said.
- “I agree.” Sandra said.
So three of them headed to the chief’s office. Sandra knocked and then came in. Karl was happy to see three of them.
- “Yes?” he asked.
- “Kenny?” Sandra told him, meaning ‘tell chief what you know’.
- “Sir, that incident in Central Park – I’ve been there yesterday when it happened.”
- “What?” Karl couldn’t believe it.
- “I saw it all happen.” Kenny replied, “except for the suicide.”
- “All right. In that case, you three head for the crime scene and Kenny you explain everyone what happened and where.”
Kenny got worried as he didn’t know how to explain it to them without mentioning Angelika. They’d think he is schizophrenic.

Chapter 8 - Wrong choice

They were in Central Park now and at a slight distance Kenny could see two figures. One was right up against the tree; another one was next to him. Kenny and Angelika quickly ran to the location of the targets and saw one of those robbers pointing a gun at another one.
- “You’re here.” The one who stood against the tree said.
- “Are you the one who contacted me?” Angelika asked.
- “Yes, that’s me.” The robber replied (it was Thorn).
- “Shut up. I didn’t know you were a traitor.” The other robber said (it was Leash)
- “Guys, stop the hostility for once and let’s talk this out.” Kenny said.
- “You shut up as well.” Leash then pointed a gun at Kenny, but after couple of seconds pointed it back at Thorn.
- “Don’t kill him. He’s your friend.” Angelika told Leash.
- “He’s a traitor; he’s no friend to me anymore.” Leash said angrily.
Kenny slowly reached out for his gun, but couldn’t find a good time to pull it out as he was afraid to risk it. Leash’s finger was right on the trigger. Thorn looked absolutely terrified, like the kind of look that said goodbye to the world.
Angelika sighed and then spoke:
- “Why are you guys doing this? What will you achieve?”
- “That is none of your business.” Leash told her.
- “You always have a choice. Don’t make the wrong one.” She said.
- “I never made the wrong one.” Leash said.
At that moment he quickly pulled the trigger and shot Thorn right in the head. Thorn died instantly and fell on the ground. Kenny then got his gun out and pointed at Leash, but Leash shot in his direction right after killing Thorn. Angelika’s reactions saved Kenny’s life as she pushed him out of the way of the bullet. Leash then began running away so not to be captured. Kenny got up really fast, gave Angelika a thankful glance and then ran after Leash.
- “Freeze! You are under arrest for murder!” Kenny was shouting to Leash while aiming his gun at him, but Leash kept on ignoring the warning and ran onto the road.
A couple of cars nearly ran him over, but he was a fast and slick runner and managed to cross the road really fast. Kenny then crossed the road as well and saw Angelika take into the air after Leash too. Leash saw that and so ran into a nearby alleyway with lots of turns. Kenny could hardly keep up with him now as Leash was out of his view most of the time, but at one moment Kenny managed to shoot and the bullet whizzed past Leash’s ear. At this point Kenny shouted:
- “Stop or I’ll shoot!”
Leash stopped running here and turned around.
- “Drop your weapon!” Kenny commanded.
Leash dropped his pistol. At this point Angelika landed right beside Leash, but Leash was smart and so grabbed her in a headlock and took out a knife.
- “Now you drop your gun or she dies.” Leash said.
- “Take it easy.” Kenny said and put his gun slowly onto the ground.
- “You’re an idiot.” Leash said and here slit Angelika’s throat with the knife and then continued running where he was.
Kenny’s eyes widened with fear and so he quickly ran up to Angelika to see if she was still alive. She was on the ground, bleeding heavily.
- “Angelika! Don’t die on me.”
- “Don’t you worry.” She said slowly, “I won’t.”
She then touched her wound and began healing it.
- “Wow. Are you immortal then?” Kenny asked.
- “No I am not. I can still die; I just don’t die as easily as humans do.”
- “I am so glad you can make it.” Kenny said, “I can’t believe I let this guy get away.”
- “Leave him. He has accumulated tonnes of guilt within these few minutes already as he killed one of his best friends and he thinks he killed an innocent girl too.” Angelika explained.
- “All right. We’ll have to deal with this tomorrow morning then.” Kenny said.
- “You’ll be all right, Kenny. Just keep on believing in yourself.” Angelika said and then got up as she was fully regenerated now.
- “I guess I’ll see you tomorrow then.” Kenny said.
- “Yes. In a meantime I’ll try to contact the mind of this guy. His sense of guilt would’ve seriously enfeebled his mind, making it easy for me to contact him.”
- “All right. Good luck to you with that then.” Kenny said.
- “Let’s get you back home first.” Angelika said.
Kenny then grabbed Angelika’s hand and here he felt that enormous speed again and in a few seconds was back at his doorstep.
- “Sleep well Kenny.” Angelika said, “And see you tomorrow.”
- “Bye then.” Kenny said.
And on this note Angelika flew off.

Chapter 7 - Sense of danger

Kenny came home feeling all happy and locked his door from the inside so no-one would disturb him. He liked today and was hoping there would be more days like these in his life. He then switched on the lights and got freaked out as Angelika already was standing there in the living room.
- “Gosh! You scared me.” He said.
- “Sorry about that. I just came to warn you that something bad is going to happen very soon. I can sense it, but what it is I can’t tell.” Angelika explained.
- “Did you find out anything about the robbers?”
- “I’ve managed to create a telepathic link between me and one of them.”
- “What?”
- “I’ve connected with his mind and he confessed to me. Apparently my arrival somehow touched him.”
- “Well, has he told you where they are?”
- “No he hasn’t mentioned it. I lost the link after about a minute and a half. Something blocked it off.”
- “What could it be?”
- “Something very evil. I don’t know yet what, but it might’ve been the presence of one of his friends.”
- “I see. Has he told you about their motives and what they needed all those weapons and explosives for?”
- “He said that Wolf – the leader of those 3 has some kind of master plan.”
- “I don’t like the sound of that.”
Angelika was gonna say something, but then at this moment she stopped and went silent. Something started to bother her.
- “What’s wrong?” Kenny asked.
- “That feeling again. The sense of danger.” She said.
- “Where is it?”
- “Looks like the guy is trying to connect with me again.” Angelika said, “Hang on.”
She began concentrating. Kenny waited patiently. After a few seconds Angelika said:
- “He says his friends are mad at him and that he had to run away.”
- “Tell him to meet us somewhere.”
- “He says he’s in the Central Park now.”
- “Let’s go meet him.”
- “Right.” Angelika agreed.
The two of them exited Kenny’s house very quickly and headed for the Central Park.
- “This will take us a while.” Kenny said.
- “All right, we’ll need to fly then.” Angelika said. “Hold my hand.”
Kenny grabbed Angelika’s hand and here he felt an enormous speed, like as if he whizzed past hundreds of buildings in an instant and finally came to his senses.

Chapter 6 - Writing a report

Kenny woke up the next morning at 7:30 sharp and felt fresh. He was happy that he got a good night’s sleep for once in a while and therefore got up quickly and did all the things he needed to do in order to be able to take off to work at 8:30. There was a lot of traffic on the roads as usual, but Kenny arrived to work just before 9 and was ready to start.
He met Jake on the stairs. Jake had his hair spiked up just as usual.
- “Hey Kenny. Had a good sleep?” he asked.
- “Actually yes, thanks.” Kenny said.
- “Excellent. We’ll need to do a lot of paperwork today on yesterday’s case. Chief told me we’ll do it together, but I think you should still see him for more info.”
- “Sure I will, thanks for the heads up.”
And at that moment Kenny continued going upstairs while Jake carried on going down. Kenny reached the 3rd floor and headed for the offices there. He shared an office room with Jake and with Sandra. The three of them always got on well together. Sandra was already there when Kenny entered their office room. She had light brown hair and pretty pale face as well as beautiful green eyes. She was always very serious, but also knew when to joke and be spontaneous.
- “Morning Kenny. It’s nice to see you.” Sandra said happily.
- “Hey Sandra. You all right?”
- “Yeah I’m good. I’ve heard of yesterday. Don’t worry about it. I’m sure you had a good reason to stop the car.” Sandra told him.
- “Thanks and yes I did.” Kenny confirmed.
- “Well OK then. I think chief wanted to see you.”
Kenny then left his stuff in the office and headed for the big office at the end of the corridor of that floor where his chief by the name of Karl was.
- “Kenny, it’s nice to see you and glad you’re doing well after yesterday.” Karl said.
- “Thanks sir, I’m much better than last night.” Kenny responded.
- “Good good. Jake perhaps told you already, but I would like the two of you to write me a report on what happened yesterday from your point of view. Describe everything – what happened to the other police car, what robbers looked like if you saw them and of course why did you have to come to a sudden stop.”
- “Of course sir. That doesn’t sound too hard.”
- “What really happened yesterday?”
- “You mean why I had to stop the car and letting the robbers get away?”
- “Yeah.”
- “Well you might think I’m crazy, but I’ve seen a person just come out of nowhere in the middle of the road.” Kenny slightly twisted the truth.
- “Hmm all right. If that was true then you definitely did the right thing by not running over the person. Safety of civilians is the main thing.” Karl said.
- “Thanks sir. That’s what I’ll put in our report.”
- “Good luck.”
And on this note Kenny left the office. When he went back to his, Jake was already there with a cup of coffee in his hand.
- “Ready to get going?” he asked.
- “Ready when you are.” Kenny replied.
So the two of them began writing the report together on Kenny’s work computer. Some situations were difficult to explain and required the right use of words, others were easier. During a lunch break right after having lunch they visited Ray to see how he was doing as he was in an accident the day before during that robber chase. His office mate Rob was helping him out.
- “So you guys are writing that report?” Rob asked.
- “Yes we are and it’s coming on well.” Jake replied.
- “Ray volunteered to write his side of the story too and so I had to type it for him as he was explaining it.” Rob said.
- “Must’ve been tricky.” Kenny said.
- “I got used to it.” Rob said.
- “Yeah, I hope my arm heals soon enough.” Ray said.
- “It will and then we definitely will catch those robbers.” Kenny said.
- “Why are you so sure they’ll strike again?” Jake asked.
- “Oh I’m sure. I sense they are planning something nasty.” Kenny confirmed.
- “Well let’s hope it’s something we can handle.” Rob said.
- “There is nothing we can’t handle.” Jake responded.
After a few minutes Kenny and Jake went back to their office. They continued writing their report and finished it soon enough. It was 8 pages long. Sandra had a read and was impressed. It’s rarely when such intense chases happened to her and she wished she was there with them. She especially enjoyed reading the bit when they came to a stop and the way Kenny described exactly what he saw. She actually believed him.
After handing the report in to Karl, their shift was over and so Kenny, Jake and Sandra went for a meal together just to chat about everyday things. The amount of jokes that came up really made Kenny’s day and he highly enjoyed the company of his office mates.
It was almost 7 in the evening when they parted ways for the day and Kenny headed back home, hoping that Angelika will visit him soon and will tell him about the robbers a bit more. He was very determined to catch them.

Chapter 5 - Faith

Kenny was still not feeling too happy after today’s failure, so he decided to go to a pub and have a couple of drinks just to forget about it for the night so he could sleep well. The problem was that he was too stressed and so couldn’t even do the simple things that he enjoys doing. He needed some company, someone to talk to. But he didn’t have a girlfriend yet, neither did he have any really close friends. Most of his friends were his work friends who he thought must be having a good time right now.
He was a 28 year old man, whose future was still ahead of him, but he had a lot of failures in the past and he hated to have any more.
He entered a local pub just 5 minutes away from his home and sat down on one of the chairs by the counter. It wasn’t busy yet as it was still only 8:45 pm. Most people come in after 10 and then it gets busy with loud music and plenty of drunk people. Kenny thought he’d stay here until around that time and then take off home and have an early sleep.
He ordered a glass of wine and began thinking of good things, something he can look forward to. However despite his efforts, he was still feeling down. This is when Angelika surprised him once again.
- “Hey Kenny.” She said.
- “Hi Angelika.” He replied, “What is it this time?”
- “I just came here to have a chat with you.”
- “Ah really? Thanks.”
- “Why are you feeling so upset? Is it because of today?”
- “Yes I think so. I hate failure.”
- “I am sure no-one likes it, but you can’t always be perfect. People make mistakes and no-one can blame you for today.” Angelika explained.
- “Well I can’t help it. It’s not just what people will think about me that upsets me, it’s also the fact that justice had failed to punish those criminals today.” Kenny told her.
- “That was for the better. Trust me. I stopped you on purpose. They are the kind of people who will not improve by force.”
- “Criminals are a lost cause. You can’t improve them full stop, you can only punish them.”
- “Sure you can. Not everyone is born evil you know. It’s what they see in life that corrupts them. I believe that it is possible to change people for the better and we should start with these three.”
- “Why are you here again?” Kenny wanted her to clarify.
- “I’m a virtue who came from Heaven to help humanity improve. I know it’s a difficult task, but that is what I’m here for.”
- “And you needed me because you needed someone on Earth to support you?”
- “Well it is easier to help humans improve through other humans. We angels can rarely improve things by a direct contact. Most of our success comes indirectly.” Angelika explained.
Here Kenny finished his glass of wine and then after a careful thought spoke:
- “But I’m not a big achiever in life. How can I possibly be of use to you?”
- “You have a low self-esteem because of bitter things that happened to you in the past, but you shouldn’t lose faith. I know deep down in you there is faith and you can have a bright future if you put effort into it.”
- “I guess you’re right. So where do I start?”
- “Start with positive thinking first. Don’t worry about injustice today. In the long run it’s for the best. Trust me on this, OK? This is why we teamed up – so we can trust and help each other.”
- “OK, I’ll take your word Angelika. You’re a good person… sorry angel.”
- “Hehe, don’t worry about it. I am glad you see me as a person. Tomorrow go to work and whatever people say – don’t let it get the best of you. You will succeed. In the evening we’ll talk about further actions, OK? I’ll try to do some research on those three robbers and see what plans they’re building up.”
- “Thanks Angelika. I am ready to help you with that.”
- “OK, in that case take care and see you tomorrow evening. Remember that you can still call my name in your mind in case of any emergency. I’ll be there asap.”
- “Brilliant, thanks.”
And on this note Angelika left Kenny. He had another glass of wine and then went back home. Talking to Angelika about faith and trust made him feel better and so he fell asleep the instant he lied into his bed.

Chapter 4 - Robber talk

The three robbers were discussing their successful robbery of the weapon shop in a meantime. Rabid Wolf – their leader was a dark, serious type with black hair and messy stubble. He liked to wear a long coat most times that hid his angry personality and bad intentions. Second one was Leash – he was an outgoing one who loved to have fun. He had blonde hair and was relatively short. Thorn was the third one who was pretty quiet and determined. He really loved shotguns and so it’s the only weapon he ever used.
- “That was a huge success back there guys. I am proud.” Rabid Wolf said to his two robber friends.
- “Thanks Wolfie. It was very fun.” Leash confirmed.
- “That was just an intro though. The main event is yet to come.” Wolf said.
- “I can’t wait.” Leash said.
- “Yeah, I think I might need Chris’ help too. He’s an expert.” Wolf said.
- “What about you, Thorn? You don’t seem to be so pleased?” Leash asked Thorn.
- “I kinda feel bad. Just that girl…”
- “What girl?” Leash questioned.
- “Didn’t you see?” Thorn wondered, “The one that came from a bolt of lightning. She looked like an angel and she stopped the cops to spare us.”
- “Err no. The cops stopped because they are retarded.” Wolf said, “Because they realised that they won’t catch us.”
- “I only saw lightning.” Leash said.
- “Well I saw a girl there.” Thorn said, “And she was beautiful.”
- “You sound like gay.” Leash mocked him.
- “Oh shut up guys.” Thorn got angry and left the room.
Wolf looked at him slightly cross and then turned his eyes to Leash.
- “We might be needing to get rid of him when time comes for the main event. I don’t trust him with his attitude.” Wolf mentioned.
- “I’m sure he’s just had a lot for one day.” Leash tried to think otherwise.
- “I still don’t trust him. I mean I’ve known you for like a year now. I barely know him for a few days.” Wolf said, “And so I can’t let him sabotage our plan. He might be a cop afterall.”
- “He’s not a cop, trust me. I’ve known him for quite a while.” Leash said.
- “Anyways, go and relax now. I’m gonna go and phone Chris.” Wolf said.
Leash headed for the room Thorn went into, while Wolf headed for a different room where he could have some privacy and phone one of his friends from a mobile. Leash entered the room where Thorn was and in there Thorn just lay in his bed.
- “Why are you doing this?” Leash asked him.
- “I am not. I just sort of feel grateful. I mean, we could’ve been caught today.” Thorn said.
- “Well we weren’t, so pull yourself together, man.”
- “I want to know who that girl was.”
- “Forget about her. Let’s just concentrate on the mission.”
- “Why have I signed up for this? I mean what if those cops I shot are actually dead?”
- “I’m sure they’re all right.” Leash began getting annoyed with him and so exited the room on this note.

Chapter 3 - Angelika

Angelika was an angel, more precisely a virtue. Her missions involved seeking potential heroism in people and awakening it in them, as well as guiding them to become better people. She knew that this mission perhaps would be the hardest one she ever had to do in her existence as it’s not a task virtues usually would do. She left Kenny for now in order to go and help people around the town. Every little good deed always counts and changes the world for the better. They can even be insignificant, but as long as they improve life of at least one person then they count.
Angelika was flying through town and scanning the areas quickly. Soon she saw a young man who fell off the bike and broke his leg. She quickly hurried downwards to help him. She did possess a few supernatural abilities, and healing small wounds was one of them. She soothed the pain and stopped the bleeding and then took the guy to the hospital.
Then she encountered two lovers who happened to be experiencing their first fight. It was a minor reason that caused them to fight, but Angelika quickly joined them and taught them to take things like that as a chance to improve and not to hate each other.
She then continued and soon saw two guys beating up one smaller guy in the alley. It wasn’t a pleasing sight in her eyes, so she quickly approached the two bullies and told them to stop. They mocked her of course, but she ignored it and just smiled at them.
One of them attempted to attack her, but she laid a quick punch that knocked him down and toned down his attitude. The two bullies ran away and the little guy was saved.
Angelika continued flying through town and doing those good little deeds for the rest of the day, until she decided that she needed to talk to Kenny again.

Chapter 2 - The Mission

The two of them then got back into the car and Jake said:- “All right, let’s drive back to the other police car. I hope those guys are still alive.”- “Sounds like a plan. Let’s go and help them.” Kenny agreed, still finding it hard to throw the girl in white out of his head. The two of them then reversed around and drove back the route they came from. Jake couldn’t quite remember the way they came from so well, so Kenny was helping him navigate and finally they saw the turned over police car with a crowd of people around it. Jake pulled the car to a stop quickly and ran out of the car. Kenny also came out and began walking to the crashed police car and the crowd of people. Suddenly he heard someone call him:- “Kenny!”Kenny looked around but couldn’t understand where it came from.- “Over here.” The voice came again.Kenny looked the other way and saw that same girl in white. She was very beautiful and looked about 20 of age. He got astonished and began walking towards her fast.- “You? You’re alive?” he couldn’t believe his eyes; he thought he was dreaming.- “Yes, listen to what I’ve got to say.” She said.- “Why did you stop us? And why didn’t Jake see you?”- “I stopped you because I had to. I know you were doing your job, but you can’t always fight fire with fire…” she was saying.- “Who are you?” Kenny got curious.- “You might think I’m crazy, but I’m a virtue. I came down from Heaven so I could improve humanity. I have a special codename when up there. But you can call me Angelika.” She said.- “What?”- “Believe it. I’m on a mission and I have chosen you as my Earthly companion because you have a good soul.” Angelika said.- “Thanks. You still haven’t told me why Jake couldn’t see you. Am I the only one who can see you?” Kenny said.- “Not really. Everyone sees me. They just see me differently. Some see me as a different looking person, others don’t see me as a person at all, but like an animal of some sort.”- “I get it. So what do you want me to do? The robbers have gotten away. Is this really for the greater good?”- “Believe me it is. You might think otherwise, but trust me – you’ll still hear from them again. And we will change even them.” Angelika said optimistically.- “I hope I can trust you.”- “I don’t blame you if you don’t. Just go and relax now. I’ll be visiting you again and then perhaps we can think of things to do. But for now you need to unwind.”- “All right, well it was nice meeting you and I hope you’re who you say you are.” Kenny said and then turned away and resumed going towards the crashed police car. Ambulance was now there too. When Kenny turned his head back round, Angelika was gone already. He didn’t think much and then just carried on walking to the crowd of people. He got there and saw 3 of the policemen being taken into the hospital. Jake then came up to him:- “Where have you been, Kenny?”- “I thought I just saw someone.” Kenny lied.- “All right. Well good news is that all of them are alive. Bad news is that all of them except Ray will have to spend the next week or two in the hospital and won’t be able to join us in this investigation.” Jake said sadly.- “I hope they get better.” Kenny said. They decided to call it a day there and Kenny returned home. On the next day he’ll have to write tonnes of paperwork describing what went wrong. He didn’t know how to say that he saw a virtue and that she stopped them on purpose. Everyone will think he’s mental. He decided for it not to ruin the rest of his day and so cooked himself something to eat and then watched TV.

Chapter 1 - The Robbery

It’s been one peaceful day in New York, or at least it started peacefully. Everyone was walking, minding their own business. Whereas all of a sudden an alarm went off in the local gun shop and gunfire was heard inside. Everyone around the shop panicked. It was a big shock to everyone and from there suddenly 3 spooky men ran out. All wore black masks and each one was armed and carried bags with more guns in them. They got into their car very quickly and drove off without hesitation. However several cops reacted quickly enough from the police station not too far away and headed for the location where robbers were last seen. The two police cars full of cops got onto the robbers’ tail very fast.
- “The targets are in front of us, chief.” Kenny said into his radio while his friend Jake was driving, “there’s 3 of them and all are armed and extremely dangerous.”
- “All right, you have my orders to shoot to kill.” Chief’s answer came from the radio.
- “I don’t like this.” Jake said.
- “No-one does, but we have to deal with it.” Kenny told him.
One of the robbers suddenly peeked out of their car and opened fire from a submachine gun.
- “Watch the gunfire!” Kenny warned Jake.
Jake’s driving sort of went out of control when he saw and heard bullets hitting their car, but he regained the control of the car fast enough. The other police car went ahead of this one and was closer to the robbers. The robbers then began shooting at that one. Another robber peeked out of their car now and shot at the police car from a shotgun, getting one of front wheels and causing the car tumble over along the road.
- “Woah!” Jake didn’t see that coming and quickly evaded the tumbling police car with his one.
- “We must not lose them.” Kenny said nervously.
In a meantime the robbers were cheering to have destroyed one of the two police cars. They both got back in the car and closed the windows.
- “Boom they go!” one of the robbers said happily.
- “Brilliant shooting there, Leash.” Another robber said.
- “Hey, you’re the one who got them, Thorn.” Leash replied.
- “Guys, there’s no time to celebrate. We still have more losers on our tail.” The last robber who was driving said with annoyance.
- “Come on Wolf, don’t be so uptight all the time. Have some fun while you’re doing your job.” Leash said to him.
- “Don’t tell me what to do. I’m the brain here, remember.” Wolf said angrily.
- “All right, as you say.” Leash said.
Kenny and Jake still didn’t give up the chase and didn’t let robbers out of their sight. The robber car headed for a bridge and in there the speeds were greater, plus with all their shooting it was more dangerous. Jake still drove confidently, but with fear. Kenny was trying to see the number plate on the robbers’ car, but couldn’t quite read it as it was painted over slightly and the car was quite far away. He was getting a bit fed up now, not with the chase, but with all the people like these in the world. He couldn’t understand their motives.
At this very second as if by a hit of lightning a beautiful girl wearing white clothes appeared in the middle of the road behind the robbers’ car. She stretched out one of her arms and shouted:
- “Stop!!!”
- “Jake, stop the car!” Kenny told him anxiously.
- “Why? We can’t lose the robbers!” Jake also panicked.
Kenny couldn’t take it and so reached out for a hand brake and pulled it sharply. The car began to go out of control due to such sharp breaking and literally smacked right into the girl. The girl flew over the car. The look on Kenny’s face was terrifying. He momentarily ran out of the car to check on the girl, but she wasn’t there. He couldn’t understand it. The robbers’ car went out of sight by now and they have escaped.
- “Kenny, what are you doing?” Jake came out of the car also.
- “Did we kill her?” Kenny asked while barely breathing.
- “Who?”
- “That girl in white.”
- “What? There was no-one there.” Jake couldn’t understand Kenny.
- “I saw her with my own eyes. I am not going crazy.” Kenny gotten angry.
- “This is just great.” Jake said sarcastically and full of annoyance, “Now we lost them. What will chief say?”
- “I don’t know.” Kenny sighed.

Prologue / Chapter 0 - In Heaven

- “The humanity’s sanity and morale is dramatically decreasing.”
- “I know; it’s a big problem. I reckon someone must do something about it.”
- “There isn’t much we can do.”
- “There is. I bet I can make a difference.”
- “Not sure if this is allowed. We’ll have to find out from someone higher up.”
- “I am ready to perform my mission. I really really want to do this.”
- “Humans are stubborn creatures. Whereas some of them will understand you, most won’t.”
- “That is why I must try my best. Afterall I have the divine powers. I better put them to good use.”
- “Do you realise that with every action there is a consequence? If you go down there and make differences then evil will also take action. This world is kept in a perfect balance. It is impossible to tip that balance.”
- “In my eyes nothing is impossible. I want to do this.”
- “All right, allow me to deal with this then.”
- “Excellent.”
